Phorest acquire Wondertxt

Dublin, Ireland 15 July 2004

Phorest, a leading provider of SMS applications announced today that it is acquiring Irish mobile phone software company Wondertxt (Imperium Teoranta) for an undisclosed amount. With this acquisition, Phorest adds to its range of business SMS products and consumer applications.

Wondertxt launched and continues to run the BusTxt SMS service for Dublin Bus which is one of Ireland's most consistently popular SMS applications receiving over 100,000 SMS a month and growing. All existing Wondertxt clients will gain access to Phorest's market leading SMS platform and customer support desk.

As part of the deal, CEO of Wondertxt Garrett Ahern will join the Phorest management team as CTO. Wondertxt has acted as an independent SMS consultant for various European mobile operators including Telia & Telefonica, most recently managing the rollout of SMS services for Hutchison 3G in Austria.

Phorest was formed by two Trinity College graduates in 2001 and has over 200 clients in Ireland including ABB, Trinity College, Stein Travel, Boyle Sports and the K Club. The acquisition of Wondertxt brings Phorest to a new level of technical expertise and infrastructure.
